My name is May and this is my capstone project for the Community Music program at Wilfrid Laurier University!
This project is all about connecting with seniors in my community in a unique way... through music and food!
I've asked seniors to share a meaningful recipe with me and their stories and recipes are turned into heartfelt music pieces by a talented group of student musicians.
The goal is to preserve the history of the recipes, as well as the valuable memories and lessons from my interviews with the seniors within our community.

Seniors in our communities have shared special recipes with personal significance.
We have everything from sweet to savoury and simple to challenging... but you can count on ALL of them to be delicious!
Most of our favourite recipes have a story! The seniors who are interviewed get to share the story behind their chosen recipe for us to learn valuable lessons and why that recipe is meaningful to them.
A very talented group of musicians from Wilfrid Laurier University's Community Music program have created improvised musical pieces inspired by the stories and recipes shared by the seniors.
The extremely talented group of musicians who have created the musical pieces are all students from Wilfrid Laurier University.
